There comes a point in your wedding photography or videography business where being really good at what you do just isn’t enough anymore.

Three months go by. Nothing happens. And they decide networking isn’t working.

But that’s just not how relationships work.

The planner you meet today might send you an incredible wedding two years from now. The photographer you become friends with might introduce you to someone who eventually changes the trajectory of your business. The planner who isn’t working at your ideal price point TODAY might build an incredible business over the next few years and remember exactly how you treated them when they were getting started.

Networking is so much more of a spider web than a straight line.

And the people who are really good at it understand that.

They aren’t walking into every room thinking, “What can this person do for me?” They’re finding their people. They’re making friends. They’re introducing people to each other. They’re collaborating. They’re showing up consistently and giving those relationships TIME to actually become something.

Because at the end of the day, people want to work with people they genuinely like being around.

If you want to grow into a higher level of the wedding industry, you can only lone wolf it for so long. At some point, you have to get in the room.

And you never really know which relationship is going to be the one that opens the next door.
